Why We Stopped Selling Courses and Now Offer an All-Inclusive Membership

Why We Stopped Selling Courses and Now Offer an All-Inclusive Membership

For years, we offered a combination of courses, virtual programs, and membership. We've learned a lot along the way and decided to return to our original design - an all-inclusive membership. We believe contract mastery requires systematic, ongoing support. Here's why we believe our comprehensive approach better serves contract learning goals compared to traditional single courses:

 Training and Content

Why should I pay when I can just stick with free CLEs and ask ChatGPT my questions?

CLEs tend to offer vague and high-level overviews without diving into the clause-level realities of how provisions actually work in negotiations. LLMs regularly make up concepts and present them as if they were true. When they do get it right, they'll explain indemnification clauses but can't be relied upon to accurately teach you things like when to push back on mutual indemnification versus when to accept it, or how to structure the carve-outs that actually matter in your industry. Laura Frederick created and curated training that reflect thousands of complex deals done in the real world, giving you the pattern recognition of what works, what doesn't, and why. You get the strategic thinking behind contract decisions, not just explanations of legal concepts.

What's the skill level for this training?

Our courses are comprehensive and practical. We offer both Essentials and Mastery classes for different depth levels. But we really leave it to you. All of us have areas where we need a fundamentals refresher and others where we need advanced strategies. You'll find all levels here.

Do you cover privacy and AI governance?

Our focus is drafting and negotiating contracts to buy, sell, and license products and services, with deep dives into core contract subjects. We generally don't cover privacy, AI governance, regulatory frameworks, government contracts, healthcare contracts, or construction contracts. We can recommend other resources for those specialized areas.

 Experience Levels

I'm transitioning from litigation/government work to tech transactions is this right for me?

Many of our members are making exactly this transition. You already understand legal concepts and risk analysis you just need to learn how those apply in commercial contract negotiations. Our training covers the fundamental building blocks of tech transactions and commercial agreements that aren't taught in law school or government practice. The Boot Camp and essentials courses will give you the foundation, while the advanced materials help you develop sophistication quickly.

I'm a foreign lawyer. Will this training be helpful to me?

Our courses are comprehensive and practical. We offer both Essentials and Mastery classes for different depth levels. But we really leave it to you. All of us have areas where we need a fundamentals refresher and others where we need advanced strategies. You'll find all levels here.

I'm an Associate General Counsel and have been doing contracts for 10+ years. What would I get out of this?

Our courses are comprehensive and practical. We offer both Essentials and Mastery classes for different depth levels. But we really leave it to you. All of us have areas where we need a fundamentals refresher and others where we need advanced strategies. You'll find all levels here.

I've never worked with contracts but want to after law school. Should I join?

You are welcome to join, but keep in mind that our training is designed for people who already work with contracts as part of their job. We offer real-world strategies based on real-world situations. While prelaw university and law school students are welcome to sign up, our focus is not on contract case law, different types of contractual language, or other similar foundational elements. We teach what to say, when, and why when drafting and negotiating contracts every day as part of someone's professional role.

 Logistics

How much time does this actually take per week?

Our courses are comprehensive and practical. We offer both Essentials and Mastery classes for different depth levels. But we really leave it to you. All of us have areas where we need a fundamentals refresher and others where we need advanced strategies. You'll find all levels here.

Can I get CLE for this training?

Yes, in some jurisdictions. We are not a sponsored CLE provider. You should contact your bar association to find out your CLE options.

Do you offer group discounts or team pricing?

Yes, we offer department licenses and enterprise training programs with group pricing. The more seats you purchase, the better the per-person rate.
